Barack is Back? Barack Never Left

Barack is back, so say the pundits, after the second presidential debate at Hofstra University. Here Deborah Hatter-Grant explains why she thinks Barack never left and outlines her hopes for the next four years.

Romney should be ashamed of himself…talking about how we haven’t had the “leadership” to work together on a non-partisan basis. What a crock. The Republican Party’s only purpose in life for the last 4 years has been to block every single thing that President Obama has tried to implement. Pathetic.

But thank goodness that’s over. Now the pundits can “weigh in” with their thoughts and comments for the rest of the week. No minds were changed…everyone who planned to vote for President Obama is still going to vote for him, and everyone who supports Romney will still vote for him. In the end, the questions were the same, the answers were the same, and when we wake up in the morning, there will be “politics” as usual.

What we need is “reform”…not “change”. There is a difference. What we need is the courage to look within, and know that no political institution or government is going to maintain anything other than the status quo…it’s purpose is to perpetuate itself. Not to create true freedom and/or equality, or opportunity, or security for its citizens. Only we can create those things for ourselves.

In my wildest dreams, I wake up the day after the election, and President Obama has won. And because he will have nothing to lose, and won’t be seeking a third term…all the “bets” will be off, and he will start to implement the things that are truly what he said that he stood for, four years ago. Yes…I would love that.

President Barack Obama

President Barack Obama: I have two daughters. I wanna make sure they have the same opportunities that anybody’s sons have. And that’s part of what I’m fighting for as President of the United States.

President Obama with nothing to lose…kickin’ butt and taking names, and righting some of those “political” decisions that he had to make to stay in office for the last four years. Letting some of that “south side” Chicago come out…no longer worrying about whether or not anyone sees him as an “angry black man”. Somebody needs to be angry about what is going on in the world today…somebody needs to just be doing what needs to be done for the people….consequences be damned. Because what we need is a revolution…but we are not ready for that. Yet.

I don’t think anyone should be confused at this point in the game. If we thought four years ago was important, then we should know how important this election is this time. We have to get out and make our voices heard.
