You are right – we have to stop playing the victim. However, the effects of colonization are still in play as we speak. Although it has been 60plus years since many countries gained independence, they didn't become economically or politically free. Also – it's hard to rise beyond some of the big conglomerates that are sucking parts of Africa dry.

On matters of colonialism….F. Fanon and W. Rodney are good classic reads…but to see how globalization and neoliberalism are affecting Africa – read The Curse of the Black Gold.

I love this. We are who we are no matter our skin color. Amused @ ‘The Lady of the Rose’ didn’t i enjoy that soap opera?! Good job..proud to be black!

Yep, proud to be black – bold, beautiful, talented, fabulous…….. the list could/can go on and on and on and…

What’s wrong with being black? NOTHING!!!!

The moment we realise how much richness and greatness we have within us is the only time we will see who we truly are, be.

Here is to being black and proud of it (all the way)!!
