Six-part drama series based on Alexander McCall Smith’s best-selling novels, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency has feisty Precious Ramotswe set-up as a ‘Private Eye’ in her native Botswana.

The series stars Jill Scott as Mma Ramotswe and Anika Noni Rose as her assistant, Mma Makutsi. It was filmed entirely on location with a pilot was directed by Anthony Minghella, who so sadly passed away recently, and is named executive producer of the show.

S01E02 No1 Ladies Detective

The No. 1. Ladies’ Detective Agency is a BBC/HBO co-production that originally began airing in the UK on March 15, where the pilot had nearly 6 million viewers. HBO picked up the series for American audiences and began broadcasting on March 29, 2009.
